Well the world in my backyard has been unfolding rapidly in the past month. Now the front yard too is seeing a whole new world.
Last night the squirrels (or terrorist) attacked the bird feeding box and destroyed the pole. Now mind you it was not an expensive pole, nor did I pay anything for it, as I had a gift card at Menard's that has been sitting in a drawer waiting for that home improvement need.
So this morning, I did a make-shift on it to assure the birds that were flocking around the feeder had food, we went to breakfast, the Barr Street Market and then ended up investing heavily in the world of bird feeders. Bought a pole that a semi could not destroy. A double hook that will hold the two feeders, bought an add on arm that holds a cup (of worms). Also, bought a stainless steel bird feeder that has a shut off mechanism if the squirrel attempts to eat from it, the holes close up. Bought a bird bath that has a motion machine that way the mosquitoes can not build a new life in the bath. Finally, bought this double canister bird feeder (pictured).
It has been more enjoyable than I even though possible ... so soon the front yard will have it's final make over ... and I think a plan is in the work. It could be complete as soon as next week. Stay tuned for more....
